Counselling/Mindfulness
We can all face times in our lives when we feel we cannot cope and it can really affect our day-to-day living. Things can become overwhelming. We understand the importance of mental wellbeing, and have services that can provide you with the helping hand you need.
Our Counselling service is available to individuals and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis. A registered counsellor can listen with empathy, and help you deal with your thoughts and feelings, giving you hope that tomorrow will be better.
Our Mindfulness coaches offer individual and family consultations – providing families with helpful techniques to deal with their stress and anxiety together.
The Leanne Fund can arrange for individuals with CF, parents and carers to benefit from confidential counselling sessions or mindfulness sessions without financial pressure.
What is counselling used for?
Counselling can help with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, illness, relationship issues, self-confidence, trauma, eating disorders, addiction and other unexpected life events.
It can provide a safe and regular space for you to talk and explore difficult feelings. The counsellor is there to support you and respect your views. They won't usually give advice, but will help you find your own insights into and understanding of your problems.
In most cases, it takes a number of sessions before the counselling starts to make a difference, and a regular commitment is required to make the best use of the therapy.
